Neda Batenipour

She was born in Tehran, Iran; and currently, she is a PhD student at the University of Wuppertal. She has been doing her doctorate in industrial design with Professor Brigitte Wolf since 2014. Now, she lives in Bonn.

In 2005, she decided to change her field of study from solid state physics to art / design to learn and practice painting professionally. In this way, she was encouraged to change subjects and ultimately gain completely new life experiences. She believes painting encouraged her to put her feelings and creative ideas on paper and express them with her hands.

In Tehran, she learned to paint with watercolor and "Ecoline", a liquid water-based ink, from Rozita Alizade in 2005. Later on, by passing courses related to interior design and at the university during her master thesis (industrial design), she learned drawing professionally.

"Changing my field of study from science to art, changed my life. One can compare this process with a swing bridge or shifting bridge. That is why we called our exhibition “Shifting Steps”. I no longer perceive art as a dynamic bridge, but rather as a very large, interesting area."
