Negar Batenipour

She was born in Tehran, Iran, and for continuing her higher education, she moved to Germany in 2016; now, she lives in Bonn. She has a B.Sc degree in Computer Engineering from IAUCTB and a M.Sc degree in Computer Science from the University of Bonn.

In parallel to her field of study, which is completely different from fine arts, she has been painting, since her childhood.  Although she started painting at an early age, she learned figurative drawing and painting professionally under the supervision of Niloufar Ghaderinejad, one of the most well-known Iranian figurative expressionist artists, in Tehran, and accustomed to working with a variety of materials, including acrylic, watercolor, ink, charcoal, marker, and etc.

Due to her deep interest in philosophy, literature, and writing, her principal goal in any artwork is conceptualizing. Later on,  when she came to Germany, after participating in exhibition of Marina Abramovic, famous performance artist,  in 2018, she was really impressed by her conceptual movement through art and  started working on conceptual photography.

She believes any art form, visual art, applied art, performance art, deemed to have conceptual value, and it should be in a way to be aspirationally inspired.

" To me, who is a painter doing science as well, painting is far beyond the visualization of form, color, or performance technique, it is about conceptualization, not only in visual art, but also in any form of art; to me, intensive contrast dominated over figures is not just an aesthetic performance technique, it is impressive because of its deep concept in portraying the human-beings’ essence, continuous struggling between light and darkness, as a matter of fact."
